Artist Statement: This quilt is made up of five rows. Four of the rows are made of strips that represent my interpretation of segments of memory and how that memory changes with the progression of Alzheimer’s. The first row is normal memory; the second row represents a slight shift of memory. Rows three and four represent how the memory begins to become skewed, turns "wrong side out" and eventually becomes only black and white. Finally row five turns to all black. The quilting is also representative of the change in memory. The quilting starts in a straight stitch and progresses to zigzags as the disease progresses. I used the star fabric for the binding to engender hope for a cure. Inspired by a challenge made by the group leader of "15 Minutes Play Group."

Dedication: To ALL care givers.

This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.

This quilt earned $36.70 for the AAQI.
