Marlene Woodfield
LaPorte, IN USA
Width: 9" Length: 12"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton commercial fabric fussy cut to resemble a tree. Pale blue nylon tulle overlay was spattered with Setacolor pearl opaque paint to resemble snow and make the quilt more three dimensional. Fabrico pens, Sulky thread, signed; machine quilted, piped traditional binding.
Artist Statement: Actually, the working name of this quilt was 97 Degrees and Snowing, but I settled on Driven Snow as the final choice! It WAS 97 degrees outside when I made this hoping to feel cooler! It did not work.
Dedication: To the weatherman - may he turn down the heat in the summer and turn it up in the winter.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $115 for the AAQI.
