Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric, batting and thread; machine appliqué, embroidery.

Artist Statement: I woke up on July 4th thinking of patriotic themes. Mother used to grow beautiful Irises, which many people call Flags. I had seen my red and white striped fabric the day before. Somehow all these thoughts came together as the song "It's a Grand Old Flag" started playing in my mind, and another little quilt was born.
