Materials/Techniques: Made of all cotton fabric using raw edge applique and machine quilted with variegated polyester thread. It is embellished with plastic guitar picks, beads, buttons, metallic braid and metallic threads.
Artist Statement: A few months ago Ami challenged us to use flat things that would not normally be used on a quilt. I finally got around to using plastic guitar picks on this quilt.
Dedication: Dedicated to a gentleman I heard about today who is living in an Alzheimer's care center in my hometown. The lady telling the story did not tell us his name. He is in his 80s. A worker was encouraging people to dance by playing different types of music, starting with the big band era. The gentleman seemed to be listening, but not moving, until Michael Jackson's Thriller started up, then he got up and danced every step, complete with all the movements. Then he sat back down, without ever saying a word.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $87.16 for the AAQI.
