Dorothy Sparks
Michigan City, IN USA
Width: 12" Length: 9"
Materials/Techniques: I used 2 silk screens borrowed from my friend, Sandy, for the center. The fabric is a silk piece I dyed. Cheryl, another friend gave me a gift and tied it with a strip of the printed fabric. I enhanced it and embellished with metallic and wool yarns and threads. The outer border and binding are made from a Caryl Fallert fabric. The piping is corded. The fast finish triangles are altered--the corners are open.
Artist Statement: This is an original design "with a little help from my friends".
Dedication: This is dedicated to my friend, Elsie Longworth, and her late husband, Jim. She was his caretaker as he struggled with Alzheimer's.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
