7670 – I Love Raggs ($91.75)

Materials/Techniques: Raggs is thread painted with heavy cotton thread, fused, machine appliquéd and adorned with a little bow. His bed is machine pieced and extra batting was added. Quilting was free motion by machine.

Artist Statement: I do love Raggs. I feel that I've actually known him. Dogs, whether real or imagined, can steal your heart that way. I think that watching "Lady and the Tramp" when I was young made an impression on me.

Dedication: Frances Leathers, my mother-in-law died as a victim of Alzheimer's in 2008. I will keep making quilts for AAQI as long as they are needed. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to feel helpful.
