Materials/Techniques: Fused cotton (commercial and painted), poly batting, variegated machine stitching, and beaded leaves.

Artist Statement: I like to think this tree is in the Wood Between the Worlds, the quiet forest with many pools of water that were portals to other worlds - among them Earth and Narnia. The ethereal blues and greens in the fabrics begged for a tree of a different color. The reverse side of a commercial plum and gold print ended up being a perfect fit. I knew that a tree in such a magical place would need out-of-the-ordinary leaves - hence, the leaf-shaped beads.
