Artist Statement: I admire the dynamic, contemporary art quilts of Libby Lehman and was thrilled when I heard she was going to teach a workshop here in Chapel Hill. It was a completely fun-filled day of designing and sewing with a wonderful teacher! Each student began with paper and pencil, designing their own small art quilt. She guided us through different techniques, and demonstrated decorative ways of stitching/finishing. Before leaving, I spoke with Libby about how I wanted to donate my quilt when finished, to AAQI, she thought it a great idea and gave me her blessing!
