Nancy Keuss Cable
Chapel HIll, NC USA
Width: 11.5" Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton fabrics and batiks. Raw-edge fusible applique with variegated cotton thread and hand beaded using multi-colored beads. Machine quilted using 100% cotton batting.
Artist Statement: I received one of the most beautiful bouquets of flowers for Mother's Day, a wonderful mix of roses, lilies and several gorgeous peonies. I gathered together the peonies and photographed them. Sketching the photo onto a separate sheet of paper, I then used it as my pattern to recreate the peonies in fabric. Luckily, my fabric scraps/stash contained the perfect fabrics to capture the brilliant colors of the peonies. A huge thank you to our daughter, Anna Cable, for the great, and most appropriate, title of this quilt.
Nancy Keuss Cable
Dedication: In memory of my mom, Jeanette Keuss, who helped me cultivate a wonderful love and appreciation of flowers throughout my early years as a young girl and teen.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
