Artist Statement: Alzheimer's is like a setting sun with the mind getting dimmer and dimmer.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to my grandmother, Ann Yelle, whose life could be compared to the rhythm of the sun. As a young adult, she shone very bright even under the hardship of my grandfather having multiple sclerosis and working as a nurse to support her family which included my father and two siblings. As Alzheimer's started to affect her, she, like the setting sun became less bright until eventually her mind could no longer be seen. If you hang the quilt one way you see the risen sun, the opposite is the setting sun.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $36.70 for the AAQI.
