Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric, machine piecing and quilting.
Artist Statement: The small format is really inspiring. You can experiment and play. I was in the process of making three different quilts for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative when the idea for this one hit me. It was done before I knew it. I used part of a previously made quilted wall hanging for the top. Offsetting it and creating a pocket. The title came from that, and the fact the Alzheimer's patients seem to remember the past better than the present. It is amazing to use my art to help fund Alzheimer's research!

Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to my uncle and aunt, Robert and Sharon Mercer, who took such good care of my dad during his long decline due to Alzheimer's.

This quilt earned $35 for the AAQI.
