Materials/Techniques: Cotton quilting fabrics, cotton batting, fusible web, using broderie perse applique, machine quilted in variegated thread.

Artist Statement: After I made the broken star block, I felt it needed a little something else, so I appliquéd the rose in the center (using broderie perse) and quilted hearts around it.

Dedication: With hopes that a cure can be found soon, I dedicate this quilt to the researchers seeking that cure.
