Materials/Techniques: Small squares of cotton and cotton blend fabrics were pieced together to form red, white, and blue stripes. Hand quilted, with metallic thread for the "stars within stars".

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise" and making quilts of many different kinds. I have made a few of these pieced flags, and I enjoy seeing how the fabrics blend together without being identical, just as Americans of many kinds join together to make one country.
