Materials/Techniques: Small squares of red, white, and blue cotton and cotton-blend fabrics, joined to form stripes, with a machine-embroidered star and scallops to make it look as it is is waving in the breeze.

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise," and making quilts of many different kinds. I have made a few of these pieced flags, and I enjoy seeing how the fabrics blend together, just as Americans join together to make one star-spangled country.
