7230 - Little Lady Charm Quilt ($35)

Materials/Techniques: This is a charm quilt -- every fabric in it is different. It is also a postage stamp quilt, called that because the squares are so small. I chose its name after the little lady in the middle near the top. She seems to have been picking apples and looks calm and happy. Hand-pieced and hand-quilted.

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise" and making quilts of many different kinds. When I learned about charm quilts, I was told that the fabrics, however different, will cohere from a distance. As the song says, "From a distance, there is harmony." I like that thought.
