Materials/Techniques: Appliqued cotton -- gingham for the dog and calico for the cat, of course, embroidered features and hand quilting. This is my second quilt with the dog and cat, who in my version are friends. In this one, the red heart and their crossed tails indicate that they are Valentines.

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise" and making quilts of many different kinds. I am impatient for medical breakthroughs to overcome this terrible disease.
