Materials/Techniques: Patches of cotton and cotton blends, decorated with a rickrack star. Hand-quilted in diamond shapes.

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise" and making quilts of many different kinds. I have made a few of these pieced flags, and I enjoy seeing how the fabrics blend together, just as Americans of many kinds join together to make one country. I like the way the diagonal hand quilting echoes the star's angles.
