Designer: AAQI quilter Jan Stone gave me permission to use her design called "Bright Eyes."

Materials/Techniques: Appliqued patches of cotton and cotton blends, embellished with embroidery thread and metallic thread, vintage buttons.

Artist Statement: My foster cat, Thisby, drives me crazy, but I am always melted by her beauty. Cats are such graceful creatures. I really like the AAQI quilt made by Jan Stone, "Bright Eyes," and she said I could use it. Our two quilts are very different because I liked the idea of a "calico cat." I have 8 of these old buttons, and I am sacrificing them to make cat eyes!
