Materials/Techniques: Patches of white and red and blue cotton and cotton blends, with a big star made of bugle beads. Hand-quilted in a diagonal design.

Artist Statement: I am fulfilling a "$1000 Promise" and making quilts of many different kinds. I have made a few of these pieced flags, and I enjoy seeing how the fabrics blend together, just as Americans of many kinds join together to make one country. It also gave me a chance to try using bugle beads for the first time.
