Artist Statement: I'm fascinated by gingko trees. Fossil remains of them have been found that are about 600,000 years old and they are virtually identical to those growing today. They don't have a network of small branches, rather the unique, fan shaped leaves grow directly out of the main branches. In the fall, when trees begin to lose their leaves, the gingko loses most of its leaves in a 24-hour period. There's something to be said for this togetherness. It's almost like support for each other.
