Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics, Moda Marbles mainly make up this quilt. The masks and other decorations are raw edge applique. Seminole patchwork is used in the borders and is meant to represent beads.
Artist Statement: I don't really know too much about Mardi Gras, but I know the colors are often purple, green and gold, and masks of all types are worn by the participants. During parades it is said beads are thrown from floats and some of them draped themselves around this quilt.
