Anne Copeland
Lomita, CA USA
Width: 8.75" Length: 11"
Materials/Techniques: Hand-dyed cotton, cotton selvedges, hand appliquéd, hand stitched, hand quilted – flowers are all 3-dimensional
Artist Statement: Summer time where I live makes even 3-dimensional flowers seem flat and all neutrals, sort of like how Alzheimer's causes a person to lose their dimensionality and to lose all the color that was a life.

Dedication: Although my mom didn't have Alzheimer's, she definitely had dementia, so I never got a good sense of closure when she passed on. My dad had it too, so the last years of their lives, when we should have had good memories, are painful to think about. This is dedicated to them.
This quilt has a Soda Pull-Tab.
