Materials/Techniques: Hand needle felted using Merino wool roving on 100% wool felt, string, machine quilted, 100% cotton backing fabric and batting.

Artist Statement: This is my May submission for the Quilt-of-the-Month Club. I chose the backing fabric first and made the front using the general theme.

Dedication: This is dedicated to my sister, who is currently going through breast cancer treatments. She lives in New Mexico and hot air balloons are a huge deal there. The backing fabric reminds me of the annual show they have.
