Designer: The bicyclist blocks were designed by Sara Nephew and published in her book Quilted Adventures. The original block, which measures 12 1/2” square, has been reduced by a half, and then a third and a fourth. The dog is from Sara Nephew's book Patchwork Zoo and also reduced. Written permission is from Alicia's Attic, owners of the rights to these books.

Materials/Techniques: Pieced traditionally of cotton fabrics and quilted with clear thread.

Artist Statement: Who wins the race? Maybe green shirt. Anyway the exercise is beneficial, I'm sure. You gotta wonder about the dog; which guy is his human? What is he thinking about the bikes whizzing around? Will he get out of the way in time?
