Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics, batting and embroidery thread, Paillettes (large sequins); appliqué is fusible bias strips. Machine quilted, hand embroidered.

Artist Statement: I really love this little quilt! I was inspired by Ami's suggestion to use words, so I used my favorite word. She also suggested embellishing with found objects not normally used on quilts. I've been intrigued by Shisha Mirror embroidery, often seen on Indian fabrics, so decided to give it a try. I decided to use the Paillettes instead of mirrors when I read a tutorial on the following blog: http://www.joyfulabode.com/2008/02/12/tutorial-indian-shisha-mirror-embroidery/
