Materials/Techniques: Reclaimed batik and seed beads from old necklace.

Artist Statement: I loved this batik fabric and bought a jacket made from it. The jacket was nowhere near a size I will actually wear in this lifetime - I bought it for the fabric. I finally brought myself to cut up the jacket and make a wee quilt with it. An old necklace provided the mix of glass seed beads in various shades of gold that I hand stitched on. I hope someone else will love these batik giraffes as much as I do.

Dedication: As I write this I am preparing the spare room for my brother moving in and as I think of all the changes that will be involved in this move, I want to dedicate this little quilt to all the caregivers out there. I do not know that I am really up for this challenge and I have so much admiration for those who are.
