Artist Statement: The title of this quilt, "Fish Got to Swim" is from the opening line of "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man of Mine" from the 1927 musical "Show Boat," a Kern-Hammerstein collaboration. The lyrics begin: "Fish got to swim, birds got to fly, I gotta love one man till I die, Can't help lovin' dat man of mine."
