Artist Statement: "Hit Man," my mother's black and white kitty was the model for this little quilt. Even though mom forgot Hit Man, he did not forget her.

Dedication: This little quilt is dedicated to my mother, Doris Austin Hays, a wonderful educator, writer, storyteller and the "very best grandmother”. She was taken from us too early by Alzheimer's. It was difficult to watch her brilliant mind slip away.
