6870 – Signs of Spring

Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics with poly batting. Paper pieced flying geese, traditional machine pieced star, and fusible appliqué with machine blanket stitch.

Artist Statement: I decided on 3 blocks - star, appliqué, and flying geese - to use in a quilt and played with the placement until I found a pleasing arrangement. I really like the way the star and appliqué blocks interlock. Tulips and geese flying north - signs of spring.
