Materials/Techniques: Thread painting on a hand painted background using Shiva Paintstiks. I wanted to get the effect of sunlight glinting off the side of the house, so I used Angelina sheets and sliver thread.

Artist Statement: My mother-in-law slid quickly into dementia, and few things could reach her, but flowers always made her happy. Along the side of her house were fiddlehead ferns, lilies of the valley, and her beloved irises. This quilt is a tribute to her.
