Houston, TX USA
Width: 11.75" Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton fabric I had left over; embroidery floss; Natural Wonder cotton batting. I used a kaleidoscope technique for the circle and fabric manipulation (inspired by Jennie Rayment) for the pleats. Embroidery stitches are back stitch and French knots.
Artist Statement: I purchased a quilt from the booth at Houston Festival last year and was inspired to make some to donate. My goal is to make one per month. My mother had dementia for the last seven years of her life, and, but for the grace of God, I could have it too. So if I can do something I love to do and help in research for a cure of this disease at the same time, what more could I ask?
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $60 for the AAQI.
