Materials/Techniques: Patchwork, reverse appliqué, machine quilted, pen and ink (on back).
Artist Statement: On the quilt front, the colorful background is interrupted by the spiral and black hole, symbolic of where memories, personality, and function disappear. On the back crossword puzzle fabric, (mom had done crosswords for years, before Alzheimer's) appears the scripture verse "Consider the Lilies of the Field" (Matthew 6) which refers to how we should not worry, and God takes care of us.

Dedication: This quilt was made in memory of our mother who suffered from Alzheimer's. We miss you Mom: Victoria Frances Dorothy Bolte Sepanek (1914-2004).
