Materials/Techniques: My own hand painted fabric, fused and machine appliquéd cotton fabrics, beads, metallic ribbon and a little bell, free motion quilting.

Artist Statement: I grew up in territorial Alaska with a love for angelic figures, saints, and Russian iconography. This is my interpretation of a guardian angel as she symbolizes the gathering and protecting of all that is pure love. She has earned her wings, rung her bell, and proclaims that it is time to "Fly Away Home."

Dedication: In honor and memory of my fifteen family members who have, or have had, Alzheimer's or a related dementia. Out of those 15 ...aunts, uncles, and parents...only my mother is still alive. You are all in my heart, forever.
