Materials/Techniques: Cotton, batting, bead. A star design made from pieced triangles. Raw-edge appliquéd bird with a bead eye.

Artist Statement: The pre-cut pieces left from earlier quilts almost put themselves together in basic quilt patterns. For me, the little bird represents hope and freedom.

Dedication: In memory of my mother.
