6420 – Bouquet of Love

Materials/Techniques: The quilt is made of cotton fabrics from my stash. It's a red trapunto fused appliqué heart bouquet blanket stitched to a pink batik background. I used a picture frame binding made of coordinating heart fabric. It was a stippled with a heart and loop design with invisible thread.

Artist Statement: I saw the AAQI program on The Quilt Show and was moved. I have never done anything like this. All my work has been for myself or family in the thirty years I have been quilting. My inspiration was the red heart fabric. I thought with Valentine's day coming this would be a good design and spread a little love and good cheer.
