Mableton, GA USA
Width: 8.25" Length: 10.75"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton, dupioni silk; reverse applique; machine quilting
Artist Statement: I saw this technique in the latest issue of Quilting Arts. I stacked three different fabrics together (4" squares), randomly stitched on them, cut into 2" squares, machine stitched to the background. I ironed a piece of silk to bonding material and randomly cut curved pieces, which were bonded them stitched to the background fabric. The smaller squares were stitched over these. Dupioni silk is very easy to work with, and gives the quilts a nice texture. I loved making this quilt.
Dedication: In memory of my mother, Nell Miller, April 27, 1923-January 1, 2005.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $100 for the AAQI.
