I made this with the thought of putting it on a small wall in my house. Then I saw Ami on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims and thought it would have a definite place in the Priority Quilts. I have dabbled in cross stitch, quilting, applique and painting. I recognized her pain that she was feeling for her mom.
My father, John Schmitz, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at age 62, he passed at age 75. My mother, Mary Schmitz, suffered from extreme dementia the last 7 years of her life. She passed at age 95. The mental torture they both went through was heart breaking. I will never get over their mental anguish and fear.
