Golden, CO    USA

Width: 9"   Length: 12"

Materials/Techniques: Machine pieced, hand quilted, 3D flowers embellished with buttons.

Artist's Statement: This simple pieced background with a variety of different fabrics reminded me of the scattered thoughts of a person suffering from Alzheimer's. The flowers symbolize the small but beautiful memories that remain.

Carolyn Beam is the Creative Editor of Quiltmaker magazine. This quilt was begun during a "Sit N Stitch" with AAQI volunteers at the offices of Creative Crafts Group in Golden, Colorado in the summer of 2010.

Dedication: In memory of my husband's grandfather and the husband of a dear friend suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's.

This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles.

This quilt earned $65 for the AAQI.
