"Sundowning" is a term used to describe when a person with dementia is particularly restless, confused and insecure in the afternoon and evening. The asymmetrical sunset in this quilt reflects the changes that occur as darkness draws nigh.
I dedicate this quilt to those who work to identify common behavioral patterns of those with dementia and look for ways to ease their suffering..
