Materials/Techniques: Discharge dyed fabric; improvisationally pieced.
Artist's Statement: When I created this mini quilt, I was a woman without a plan. Before taking a stitch, I discharged solid green fabric with bleach to produce bursts of Caribbean blues and greens. I pieced each section improvisationally as an exercise to practice curved seams. The final result is surprisingly structured with a strong delineation be positive and negative space. I sort of see a film strip or a bunch of negatives, but that may be different for you.
