Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics and threads, poly/cotton batting; machine pieced and quilted.
Artist's Statement: While I was piecing this quilt I couldn't help remembering the tiny purple couch a neighbor man made for me when I was maybe 3 years old. That year the only thing I wanted for Christmas was a purple couch. Most folks thought it was amusing but this kindly gentleman got to work and made a small, maybe 1 foot wide, sofa complete with padded bench and back and purple upholstery similar in color to the lavender fabric used here. I have no idea where it is today but think this little quilt would be a perfect lap quilt to go with that little couch.
Dedication: To Rufus Smith who many years ago made a tiny purple couch for me.
