Tuttle, OK USAWidth:
Thirty five one inch blocks made in a four grid, sashed and edged with border print. Each block has it's own color combination with a white background. There are blocks with as many as 32 pieces and as few as 8. Some fabrics were specially cut to provide design features to a few blocks. All were machine pieced without foundations. The entire quilt has over 750 pieces, many with two or more pieces in a 1/4 patch, and was made from approximately 70 different fabrics. Every time I counted, I got a different answers each time, but they were always greater than the ones I have noted.Artist's Statement:
It is said variety is the spice of life and I am not good at repetitive things, so I decided I should make a small quilt with as many different blocks as I could stand to make. Actually I ran out of room before the ideas were used up. While I am aware there is nothing new under the sun, the designs for the blocks were all just made on quarter inch graph paper without any thought to whether they were traditional blocks or just groupings that were attractive to me.
