Materials/Techniques: Commercial fabric; machine pieced, hand embroidery.
Artist's Statement: I pieced this block using freezer paper templates instead of paper piecing. Selecting all of the fabric was great fun. I added some hand embroidery accents. If only an apple a day would keep Alzheimer's away.

Dedication: When I contacted Louise for permission to use her pattern she shared the fact that she lost her mother in December 2010 after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's. This quilt is dedicated in memory of her mother.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $49.84 for the AAQI.
