Artist's Statement: As the disease progressed, my mother's speech diminished until it consisted of two words that she would repeat over and over. The words were "coffee" and "kleenex," oddly enough, and I thought it would be far easier to make a coffee quilt than a kleenex quilt.
Dedication: In honor of my mother, Betty.
