Artist's Statement: I am participating in a monthly creativity initiative as well as the Liberated Quilters Challenge. June's creativity challenge/prompt: "Let Them Eat Cake." So why did I choose a cupcake? There is a wonderful bakery that specializes in cupcakes near my office. Every payday Friday, a group of us visit and indulge in their decadent offerings. In reality, who 'needs' a reason to enjoy a cupcake?!?!? Just Because is reason enough…

Dedication: In honor and memory of my mother, Lura Ash Walton (1916-2005) who used to bake cupcakes so my sister and I could frost them and add way too many sprinkles.
