Materials/Techniques: Hand painted background, Machine appliquéd and quilted. I’m submitting this piece as part of the “Liberated Quilter’s” on-line “Liberated Challenge”.
Artist's Statement: I used men’s neck ties to do the Hot Air Balloon appliqués.

Dedication: To Doris Woolf who gave me the tie (you see in this quilt) from her husband, Gerry, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. I met Doris via the internet through Wendy whose father’s ties I used to make previous Alzheimer’s quilts
