Materials/Techniques: Machine pieced, machine quilted.
Artist's Statement: In making this Impressionistic style quilt, squares of different fabric were ‘fussy cut’ and assembled, much like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, only the pieces were cut to fit the picture.
Making these types of quilts reminds me of the many hours I spent with my family assembling jigsaw puzzles. Prior to her dementia, my sister was quite adept at working puzzles. Seeing her inability to solve puzzles and resolve problems was a early clue for us that ‘something was not quite right’ with her.
