Betty Rogers
Center Conway, NH USAWidth: 8"
Length: 10"
Materials/Techniques: Crayola Modeling Clay, Machine appliqued, 100% cotton fabric, Angelina fibers, Misty Fuse.
Artist's Statement: I found this idea in one of my quilting magazines. Using Crayola Modeling Clay formed into circles, I let them dry overnight, then painted them. Believe it or not, you can sew right through the clay! I used a zigzag stitch to attach the medallions. Prior to attaching them, I fused the Angelina to the background with Misty Fuse. I caught an appliqued dragonfly under the Angelina, thus the title.
Betty Rogers Dedication: For my mother, Mary Osinski.
