Debbi Daniel-Wayman
Lombard IL USAWidth: 8.25"
Length: 11.75"
Materials/Techniques: Hand dyed and commercial fabrics, machine pieced and quilted.
Artist's Statement: My work explores reflections of nature, people and special times.
Debbi Daniel-Wayman Dedication: My father, Roland Daniel, had both Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s, and I was his caregiver. In his honer this quilt reflects the AZ desert he loved. The cactus is an apt metaphor for many prickly moments as his condition progressed, and the angles in the quilted sky reflect the unexpected directions our conversations took. Time with Dad was also often bright and sunny as these colors reflect, and there was much love sandwiched among the rocky times which is reflected in the quilting at the base of the quilt.

This quilt earned $39.59 for the AAQI.
