5167 - Triangle Memories

Geneva Foote Carroll
Lincoln, CA USAWidth: 10.25"
Length: 8.5"
Materials/Techniques: Left over batik triangles cut from the inner part of flying geese. (Scraps!) The triangles are attached to a base of muslin, then sewn together with a backing and batting. Fun threads are added to the top.
Artist's Statement: The different random colored triangles represent memories made over a lifetime. The wispy threads at the top represent the synapses that are used to recall those memories. In AD a person loses the ability to recall the memories and those precious memories are lost forever.
Geneva Foote Carroll Dedication: To my dad, Howard Pattison Foote, who died of AD December 20, 2000. Dad, your memories are safe with us.
